Restless in Peace - Income Streams

As a person with unlimited interests, one of my main struggles has often been this:

How to get paid for what I love doing.

It's "easy" when you have one job and that job pays your bills.

To me, that never felt like a good option.

First of all, I find it way too risky - yes, you heard right.

While most people see it as a risk to leave that one stable job that provides them with an income, to me, having it is the bigger risk. Because you put all your eggs in one basket.

What if you have a horrible boss and now you have to spend the majority of your time in a dysfunctional set up? This impacts not only your happiness at work (where you spend a considerable amount of hours), but also spills over to your private life - your relationships, your energy after work, your weekends and holidays, when you are dreading going back or just trying to forget about what usually happens in your life.

The thing with full-time jobs is that you are extremely dependent.

You want all your needs to be met, because this is like your only chance for progress and development. You want to work on things you love, that challenge you, with people you love - but there are so many things that are completely outside of your control:

You don't choose your clients, your coworkers or what the company needs right now. You have to deal with so many things, tasks, people, that you would have never put on your vision board - but you might think that this is just how things are, because what are you gonna do?

Well....

Here is where having multiple income streams becomes a very interesting thought.

Because you don't rely on just one.

You get to choose where to invest your energy.

You are able to let one go if it doesn't align, any more.

You get to attract and select the projects and people you want to work with.

You get to focus on your skills and talents.

Yes, setting this up is going to require a bit more effort than "just finding a job".

But the long-term benefits are SO. MUCH. HIGHER. At least in my opinion.

Here is an overview of my income streams as of August 2025:

  • My Coaching: I have multiple offers from group to 1-1 coaching, most of them in contracts for multiple months with some of them having monthly payment plans

  • Teaching at ESADE: Throughout the year, I teach a few courses at ESADE Business School and I coach teams around conflict resolution and project management

  • Art: I have been hosting creative workshops for a few years and recently started selling my paintings. This is an income stream I am going to dedicate more time to now.

  • Photography: I love portrait photography and have been doing photoshoots with aspiring Entrepreneurs, I am also considering selling prints of architecture and landscape photos that I have taken.

  • Retreat: I am putting it here, because I want to make it happen. It hasn't happened yet.

As you can see here, some of these income streams take up more of my time than others, and I cheekily included a Retreat even though I haven't hosted it yet. But what is really important here is that I am aware of how I dedicate my time and energy.

Not all of my income streams can get the same level of attention all the time.

When I started my Coaching business, I quickly realised that learning how to sell something I create and deliver myself is a skill that is going to serve me in every area of my life.

Because in the end, it doesn't matter what you do.

It's just knowing how to make money by yourself, rather than waiting for someone to employ you.

And that requires huge levels of trust and confidence, more than anything.

Yes, skills is important, too. But the main thing I see with Solopreneurs who are starting out is a lack of trust in their own ability to figure things out.

We work on that in Paid for Purpose.

Join us this September if you want to learn how to make money doing what you love.
